Ros’s Team GB debut could not have gone any better. She and Allstar B kicked off with a personal best in the dressage, scoring 38.6.
Across country the pair jumped a great clear round, coming home four seconds over the time to finish the day on 40.2
Ros said: “It feels amazing; I owe so much to my horse. He’s a big strong horse, he always makes me work hard but he’s so honest and such an amazing jumper. My aim was to go clear inside the time and I’m very delighted with how we went. He’s just the most phenomenal horse.”
By the end of cross country day Team GB sat at the top of the leaderboard. Again Ros & ‘Alby’ performed, clear inside the time – and moving up to 5th place individually.
“To be surrounded by this team and the whole of the GB team has just been fantastic. I don’t think it’s still really sunk in yet. It’s so exciting to be part of this team, with all their experience around me and it’s so special for us all. The excitement of it all is just amazing.”
