Ros’ Burghley got off to a great start with Pencos Crown Jewel taking the lead at lunchtime on day one after a lovely dressage test which scored 26.9.
The following day she rode Kate and Joe Walls’ Cooley Cloverland to victory in the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse five-year-old championship.
Unfortunately, her fabulous run of success came to a (temporary) hiatus on cross-country day when, whilst jumping beautifully around the testing track, ‘Jasmine’ left a leg at the skinny rails at the Dairy Mound, tipping Ros out the front door.
Horse and rider are both fine, and will fight another day…
