Makin a Storm was the best placed of Ros’ rides at Frickley. Following a 23.8 dressage score Chris & Jane Makin’s gelding jumped a lovely double clear, just a few seconds over the cross country optimum in his BE100 section to take the runner up spot.
Pennie Wallace & Margie Ward-Read’s Lordships Parc Royale also jumped double clear, this time in a novice section, resulting in a third place finish.
Light The Fuse is a new ride for Ros – she was previously campaigned by Lauren Blades. Owned by Katie Davenport, the mare posted a 28.5 dressage score, adding a rail down in the show jumping and a few cross country time penalties.
Ros’ remaining ride was debutant Parklodge Over And Under, a five-year-old gelding owned by Sharon Bayston. Ros said on Facebook: “A beautiful 23 dressage (by ‘Dolphin’), and he finished full of confidence on the xc. We might have added a 20 and 70 time penalties (?!!) after a bit of stage fright meant stopping to take in the surroundings for a while, but this is why I love the babies.”
