Supported by the UK Sport lottery funded World Class Programme, the British Eventing Senior Selection Committee have selected a team of four riders from the British CICO squad to represent Great Britain at Ballindenisk (10-14 April) for the second leg of the 2014 FEI Nations Cup Series.
In consultation with the Selection Committee and Yogi Breisner the Eventing Performance Manager, the CICO Team Manager Philip Surl has selected the four riders named below to represent Equestrian Team GBR.
• Rosalind Canter riding her own Zenshera
• Nicky Roncoroni riding Stonedge owned by Mrs Janey Barclay Roncoroni
• Izzy Taylor riding Allercombe Ellie who is jointly owned by Ms Frances Carter and Susan Holyroyd
• Lucy Wiegersma riding Mr Chunky whom she owns with Mr Huw Lloyd, Mr Christopher and Mrs Sarita Perkins
Commenting on the potential Team GBR representatives, Philip Surl said: “We have an exciting mix of new and established riders on the team for Ballindenisk who are on a selection of very promising looking horses. It will be great to see Ros Canter in action at her first Nations Cup competition.”
Yogi Breisner added: “The primary purpose of campaigning the CICO Nations Cup series is to give riders who have not been regular members of Senior Championship teams experience of working and competing within a team environment and to get them out competing against the best continental riders”.
